This luxury bus will depart from Chandigarh Sector 17 bus stand and will take you to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh after a journey of about 18 hours. It will drop you at Chowk, 15 km from Prayagraj, from where local free shuttles will take the devotees 4-5 km before Prayagraj Sangam. From where devotees can reach the Kumbh place of Prayagraj on foot.
Vijender Singh, the Chandigarh in-charge of these buses, said that these luxury Volvo buses are 51 seater. The departure time of the bus is 2.20 in the afternoon, which reaches Prayagraj the next day between 8 to 8.30 in the morning. Apart from AC, it has the facility of mineral water.
The bus ticket is Rs 2800 per person one way fare. The bus leaves for return at 6 pm the next day. The food and drink in the bus is the passenger’s own. The buses run daily at the same time, the booking of which can be done online in advance. If someone wants to book it at the bus stand, he can do so by coming there.
The bus conductor Mukesh Kumar and driver Sanjeev told about the bus in detail.
They told that along with being AC, the seats are also recliner. That is, the seat can be reclined to relax. Apart from this, there is also ample facility to keep luggage. There are two drivers in the bus, on long journeys the drivers change and drive the bus so that the passengers do not face any inconvenience.
The fare of the bus is a little more than other buses, but the comfort is also as much. The buses run at the same time every day. And if a passenger does not come, the passengers who will replace him are already waiting. On asking, it was found that there has been no decrease in the number of devotees going. Even the bus conductor has taken advantage of the bath.
