8th and 12th examinations in Punjab from today: 2579 examination centers have been set up, 8.82 lakh students will participate, question papers will be tracked

Date:

The annual examinations of class 8th and 12th of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will start from today (19 February). 2579 centers have been set up across the state for the examinations. More than 8.82 lakh students will appear in the examinations.

While the examinations of class 10th will start from 10 March. This time a special tracking system has been prepared to prevent leakage of question papers. The question paper will also be opened in the presence of students in the examination center and their signatures will be taken.

If mass cheating takes place, action will be taken against all the staff

Special flying teams have been formed to make the examinations free from cheating, which will conduct surprise checks of the examination centers. If a case of mass cheating is caught anywhere. Then departmental action will be taken against the staff posted at that examination center. All the expenses incurred in conducting the examination will be put in the account of the staff posted on duty.

If any case of cheating is caught in any center, then the center superintendent will not be paid wages until the case is resolved. Education Minister Harjot Singh said that proper arrangements have been made by the government. He wished the children all the best for the examination.

Students’ problems will be heard at the control room

According to PSEB, a total of 302189 students will appear in the 8th class examination. While 284658 students will appear in the 10th class examination and 272105 students will appear in the 12th class examination. The board has set up a total of 2579 examination centers across the state for the examinations.

2579 superintendents and 3269 deputy superintendents have been appointed for the examination. A control room (0172-5227136, 137, 138) has also been set up in the main office to monitor the board examinations. Complaints received in the control room will be heard on priority basis.

You will not be able to leave the examination center before time

This time PSEB has taken several strict steps to ensure that the question papers of the examination are not leaked. Firstly, all the question papers have been sent to the banks in GPS-equipped vehicles. A complete tracking system has been prepared to send the question papers from the bank. A mobile application has been created for this. While releasing the paper, his photo will be taken.

Also, his photo will be loaded on the app. Apart from this, there is a QR code on the envelope of the question paper. At the same time, the mobile phone of the person who will take the question paper from the bank will be tracked. As soon as the question paper reaches the center, his photo will be taken. Then the photo will also be taken at the time of opening the question paper. Signatures of two children, Deputy Superintendent and two inspectors will be taken.

Question paper packets will be opened 30 minutes before the start of the examination. Permission to leave the examination center before half time will not be given. If any student wants to leave the examination hall before time, then the center superintendent will take his question paper and keep it with him. Because the board fears that as soon as they go out of the examination center, they make it viral on social media. Due to which there remains a possibility of paper leak for the students sitting in the examination hall.
