There was a sudden stone pelting in the park of Sector-56 of Chandigarh. Due to which the people who were strolling there got scared and started running away from there. After this, the people of the area sat inside their houses for a long time.
According to the local people, the incident happened late last evening. Both the groups had sticks and other items along with stones, due to which there was a danger of some big mishap. The surprising thing was that the police post was just 5 minutes away, but still the police did not reach on time.
Questions raised on the police
Local councilor Munawwar raised questions on the police administration and said that the law and order situation in the area is continuously deteriorating. He told that a few days ago there was a theft in the temple, but now the open stone pelting raises questions on the police.
He said, “As soon as the fight took place, a local person called the police, but the police did not reach the spot for a long time. During this time some people also got injured. The police should take strict action against such anti-social elements, so that such incidents do not happen in future.
Police’s response – no complaint received
When we talked to police station-39 in this matter, they told that the two groups fighting have been involved in criminal cases earlier also. One group is related to Harsh Tuttal, while the other group is of Pinky and Tarsem.
A case was registered against them earlier also, after the case was registered, they came out on bail. The police had received information about the fight, but when they reached the spot, none of the parties refused to lodge a complaint and said that no one was seriously injured.
