The new academic session 2025-26 has started in Haryana from April 1 (today), but books from class 1 to 8 have not yet reached the government schools. This is the situation when the Education Department has also issued guidelines on teachers with the target of 100% registration. A detailed guideline has also been issued to run the admission festival from April 1.
Despite this, the department has not been able to provide books for the children in the schools yet. Regarding this, the Government Primary Teachers Association Haryana has urged the government and the department to provide books as soon as possible.
In fact, in compliance with the National Education Policy, the main task is to bring every child from pre-primary to 18 years of age into the mainstream of education. 100% enrollment of children from 6 to 14 years of age in the state, maintaining retention, transition, providing them quality education is mandatory in the Right to Education Act.
Last year the book reached on time
State General Secretary of State Primary Teachers Association Haryana, Rajesh Sharma says that in the last academic session 2024-25, by April 1, books from class 1 to 8 had reached almost all the government schools. Teachers also distributed books to the children on time.
Thanks to that effort of the Education Department, the children started studying with the books on time. Due to which the department has also seen good results, but this time the department has failed to provide books before time and on time.
In the departmental letter, it was told to make the distribution of books mandatory
According to the departmental letter, the admission process in all government schools is to be started from April 1. Annual examination results should be declared in all government schools on April 1. On this day, distribution of new next class books to the children should be done compulsorily. The student who passes the fifth should be enrolled in the next class on the same day. The school should not deprive any child of admission under any circumstances.
There can be a change in the syllabus of class 4th and 5th
The state general secretary of the union says that there can be a change in the syllabus of class 4th and 5th in these four departments. But till now the teachers and parents are not aware of this. Because the books have not reached the schools yet. Only after seeing all these books will it be known whether there has been a change or not. If yes, then what changes have been made.
According to the letter issued by the department regarding admissions, the students who have passed class 8th should also be admitted in the same way, because the maximum dropout happens in class 9th. Especially girls are more affected by this.
It has also been said that on the lines of Chandigarh, most of the government schools should be run in double shifts. District level officers should be authorized for this. Appropriate instructions should be issued.
