Chandigarh. The state government is now preparing to fight a legal battle after the Punjab government locked the control room of Bhakra Dam and did not give water as per Haryana’s demand. A team of legal experts brainstormed throughout the day on Friday to challenge the action of the Punjab government. The decision given by the Supreme Court regarding SYL will also be made the basis in the Bhakra case.
Haryana Irrigation Minister Shruti Chaudhary, while talking to the media on Friday, said that the state government will go to the Supreme Court demanding water. The lawyers of the state government have also inquired about the earlier decisions given in this regard.
Since there are holidays ahead, we will soon file a petition in the Supreme Court for our right to water. We should get the water we deserve. The system is the same as it was every year. Then why is such drama being done by the Punjab government?
‘This water is completely of BBMB’
Shruti Chaudhary said that Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab should understand that it should not trouble the common people. In Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal had talked about mixing poison in water. Following the same path, Bhagwant Mann stopped the water without maintaining the dignity of his post. This water is completely of BBMB and everyone has a right to it.
At the same time, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has also called an all-party meeting. The all-party meeting will be held tomorrow at 2 pm in Haryana Niwas.
