DC will hold meeting every month in cities of Haryana: Different arrangements in 5 areas of MDA; Focus will be on solid waste, drainage and drinking water issues

Date:

The Haryana government has decided that to resolve issues related to inter-agency coordination such as solid based management, storm water drainage, drinking water and sewerage in the cities and towns of the state, the Deputy Commissioners (DC) of the districts will prepare the agenda for monthly coordination of the concerned departments and officers.

The agenda and minutes of such meetings will be prepared by the concerned DC in consultation with the DMC. Also, it will be placed before the Administrative Secretary in charge of the district during his visit. This decision of the government will not be applicable in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panchkula and Hisar. Orders have been issued in this regard by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.

Regular monthly coordination meetings will be held in 5 MDAs

The Haryana government has also decided that daily coordination meetings will be organized in the cities with five metropolitan development authorities of the state. These include Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, and Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority. In these cities, solid based management will be discussed in the regular monthly meeting of all the concerned departments and officers.

Meeting will be chaired by Principal Advisor

Such monthly meetings of GMDA, FMDA and SMDA will be chaired by the Principal Advisor, Urban Development. The monthly meetings of PMDA will be held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Village Planning Department, while the monthly meetings of HMDA will be held under the chairmanship of Administrative Secretary in charge, Hisar.

Overall coordination will be looked after by Senior Officer

The government has taken this decision in continuation of the instructions issued on March 17, 2025. It was said in those instructions that considering the multiplicity of agencies and coordination related issues in the towns and cities of the state, the government has decided that the most senior officer posted in any one of the District Administration, Municipal Corporation, Metropolitan Development Authority and Urban Development Authority will be the Overall Coordination Officer.

He will also chair review meetings of officials of various agencies posted in that city for issues related to inter-agency coordination such as solid waste management, storm water drainage, drinking water and sewerage.
