This time, orphans will also get a chance to study in engineering institutes affiliated to Punjab University. Joint Admission Committee (JAC) has reserved 2 seats each for orphans in UIET, UICET and UIET Hoshiarpur.
The special thing is that in every institute, one seat has been kept for boys and one seat for girls. So far, 2 applications have been received for these reserved seats.
According to the information, orphans will be admitted to BE, BArch and Integrated BE (Chemical) MBA courses under JAC on the basis of JEE merit list. Students are very excited about admission in the institutes.
Coordinator Prof. Varun Gupta said that this time, more than 2100 applications have been received so far against 1688 seats in engineering courses. In such a situation, a tough competition is expected on the basis of merit. The last date for application has been kept as 21st June.
