A new system for property registration will be implemented in Punjab from today. The government claims that the common man will not have to visit tehsil offices for registration and will be free from recommendations and brokers. In the new system, now registration will be done in any of the tehsils located in the district. Apart from this, people will also have the option of online registration while sitting at home or in their office. They will also be able to keep an eye on the entire process online.
For this, the Punjab government is going to launch the Easy Registry campaign from Mohali from today (May 26). A pilot project of this new system was going on in Mohali, which has been successful. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and party supremo Arvind Kejriwal will dedicate this system to the public.
The government claims that this is happening for the first time in India. The DC will be responsible for making this system corruption free and getting the registration of people done without any delay.
This system had to be brought due to three reasons
The government has three main reasons to make this department transparent. Because there were the most complaints in this department. CM Bhagwant Mann himself knows about this and he is constantly receiving complaints about the department. From the beginning of this year, work had started in this department to run the work smoothly. Earlier, orders were given to run cameras continuously in the offices of Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars in all tehsils.
Cameras found working at only 3 places
However, it was found in the investigation that cameras were working only at three places out of 180. The reason behind this was also clear. Secondly, whenever the police or vigilance caught any Tehsildar, Patwari or Revenue Officer of this department taking bribe, all the revenue department people would go on strike, due to which the work would stop. Such a problem had also come up in the past days.
CM had visited tehsils
After this, the CM himself had visited the tehsils. Tehsildars were transferred more than 200 km away, while those who did not join duty were also suspended. Thirdly, people had to pay more than the fixed amount for each registry. One had to pay for the registry online.
After this, commission was taken from people through middlemen. In such a situation, people had to look for links to get the registry done. At the same time, questions were raised on the government itself.
Now this whole process will run like this
The purpose behind starting the process of easy registry is to make this department transparent. Because people have to face a lot of trouble in this department. The situation was worse in district Mohali. In such a situation, now the government has brought this scheme. For this, a project named Easy Registry is being started.
For this, people will have to login to the website named
https://easyregistry.punjab.gov.in. After this, the home page of the website will open, from where the entire registration process will start. Registration has to be done to get the registration of land located in a district done from any sub-registrar office.
After this, the documents will be checked online within 48 hours. After this, any kind of objection etc. can be raised from the Tehsildar. After this, you will have to go to the service center of the registrar’s office either online or by calling 1076. If during this time more money is demanded than the fixed amount for the registry, then a complaint will have to be made on the WhatsApp number. After this, the DC will ensure that the registry is completed without any hindrance.
