In view of the increasing cases of corona in Haryana, the government has become alert. The government has given instructions to prepare isolation beds in all hospitals. Apart from this, all civil surgeons have been instructed to keep a close watch on high-risk patients.
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has urged the people and health officials to be vigilant and proactive regarding COVID-19. He emphasized that the health and safety of every citizen is the top priority of the government.
Timely action and strict adherence to preventive measures can prevent the spread of the virus to a great extent and there is no need to panic.
Advisory issued for civil surgeons
The Haryana Health Department has issued an advisory regarding COVID-19 to all civil surgeons. They have been instructed to set up dedicated flu corners in health facilities, so that early detection and treatment can be provided.
Hospitals across the state have been directed to ensure preparedness with adequate beds including isolation beds, oxygen supply, essential antibiotics, PPE kits, N-95 masks and essential testing supplies.
Staff training session begins
Kumari Arti Singh Rao said that refresher training sessions will be conducted for health workers to reinforce knowledge about signs, symptoms, management and guidelines to be given for COVID-19.
People are being encouraged to adopt appropriate behaviour for COVID-19,
which includes maintaining respiratory and hand hygiene, covering mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing, maintaining social distancing, avoiding spitting in public places, wearing masks in crowded environments and frequent hand washing.
Instructions for strict monitoring of high-risk patients
District surveillance units have been directed to keep a close watch on home isolated cases, especially high-risk individuals such as the elderly, pregnant women, children and those with co-morbidities. Meetings are also being called with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to strengthen preparedness at the district level.
