Once again, the Nagar Nigam is working to benefit companies under the guise of free work. This time, the work of the horticulture waste plant is being given to a public sector undertaking without any tender. The officers are in such a hurry to allot this work that the company was finalized in three days.
The officers of the corporation received an application from a public sector undertaking called Hardicon on April 28. The very next day, the Engineering Department prepared its proposal. It was also passed in the meeting of the Corporation House on April 30. Now the officers of the Engineering Department are preparing to allot the work to the company.
Horticulture work to project consultant company
The public sector undertaking to which the corporation is going to allot the work does project consultancy work. The company has no experience in processing horticulture waste. Neither has the company ever set up a horticulture waste plant. Nor does the company have any technical manpower.
This is how the game will be played in the name of free
The officers of the corporation are claiming that the public sector company will set up a plant for horticulture waste for free and will process it. The material that will be prepared after processing will be of the company. The company will earn by selling it. The company will be given the work of the plant for 10 years. The corporation is claiming that the company will set up a 60 tonne plant for free.
The corporation will provide land for the plant. The company will have to spend about three crore rupees to set up a 60 tonne plant, whereas in just one year the company will earn three to four crore rupees from the products prepared from this plant. In such a situation, the company will earn a lot of money for 10 years by recovering the cost of the plant in just one year.
Zero earnings for the corporation
In this game of free, the promises of the Municipal Corporation will be zero. In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation is already struggling with financial crisis. The officers are pushing the corporation into more crisis through this project. The work from where earnings should be made is being given for free to a company which is not capable of running it and will allot this work to some third party only.
