The plan to play a game in the city’s bio mining project was already made. This game was played with the blessings of the corporation’s chief engineer. The tender conditions were changed several times before giving the work of bio mining to two favorite companies.
The companies took advantage of the change in these conditions and they sublet the work further. The result was that despite spending crores of rupees, the entire garbage has not been lifted from the dumping ground.
Due to the changes made in the tender conditions, the work of bio mining was given to a company associated with steel jam. The responsibility of preparing the tender conditions lies with the chief engineer. In this tender, the chief took the oath with closed eyes and also kept the councilors and senior officers of the corporation in the dark.
Now this issue will be raised in the upcoming House meeting of the corporation. The biggest question is how can a company give the contract to others instead of doing the work itself. This is a blatant violation of the tender conditions.
There was manipulation in bulk density
The officers of the engineering department of the corporation showed bulk density as .6 while allotting work to the PSU, whereas earlier the company had got work at a bulk density of more than 1. The PSU got direct benefit from this. The company is being paid almost double as compared to earlier.
This information was not given to the corporation councillors and officers. If the corporation had allotted work like Akanksha Enterprises, the company working earlier in the dumping ground, it would have benefited by about 5 crores.
Responsibility should be fixed
There is a demand to fix responsibility for this scam in the name of bio mining in the corporation. According to former deputy mayor Satish Kaith, the chief engineer is running away from his responsibility. He has proved incapable in the work of the corporation.
The city’s social organization and DK Sanstha, working against corruption, has complained about it to the CBI and CVC. In this, the corporation officers have been accused of directly benefiting the company.
