DSP Crime arrested in Punjab: Attempt to bribe to get complaint against himself cancelled, government action against corruption

The Punjab government has arrested Faridkot DSP Crime Against Women Rajanpal while taking action against corruption. The DSP also tried to bribe Rs 1 lakh to cancel the corruption complaint against him. However, he could not succeed in this.

An FIR has been registered against him. The government says that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost. The Mann government has a zero tolerance policy against corruption.

A complaint of corruption was made

According to the information, when a complaint of corruption was made against the DSP, the SP tried to settle that complaint. For this, he offered a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. The police have registered an FIR against the DSP under the anti-corruption law and arrested him.

At the same time, orders for departmental action have also been given. It is learned that he had come on duty only a few days ago. 26 officers and employees have been suspended with immediate effect under Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970 for negligence in duty.

Money was taken in a matrimonial dispute case

DSP Rajan Pal was investigating a complaint of a married woman Kiranjit Kaur of village Pakka in Faridkot, in which the DSP had extorted a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the victim’s family and did not even resolve their case. After this, the married woman’s brother Karmatej Singh filed a complaint with the SSP against DSP Rajan Pal on Thursday, a day before, for extorting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

On getting the inkling of this complaint against himself, DSP Rajan Pal contacted SSP Dr. Pragya Jain’s reader ASI Jaswinder Singh and tried to bribe him with Rs 1 lakh to get the said complaint against him hushed up.

The reader immediately informed the SSP about the entire matter and after his instructions, a case was registered against Rajan Pal under the Corruption Stop Act in City Police Station and he was also arrested.

25 officers suspended 6 days ago

Last week on July 28, the Punjab government took a big action against the corruption and drug network going on inside the jails. During this, 25 officers and employees were arrested. These officers are Iqbal Singh Brar (Superintendent, District Jail Mansa), Maninder Pal Cheema (Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail Ludhiana), Anil Bhandari (Deputy Superintendent, Borstal Jail Ludhiana), Sandeep Brar (Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail Ludhiana), Yadvinder Singh (A.S.J., Central Jail Ferozepur), besides warders Harbhupinder Singh and Sikander Singh (Goindwal Sahib), Bikramjit Singh and Vijay Pal Singh (Amritsar), Jatinder Singh, Ravi, Deepak Rai, Kiranjit Singh, Prithipal Singh and Satnam Singh (Kapurthala), Satnam Singh and Mandeep Singh (Hoshiarpur), Maninder Pal Singh (Ludhiana), Anu Malik, Randhir Singh, Arvind Dev Singh, Balveer Singh and Sukhpreet Singh (Mansa), Satnam Singh (Nabha), Gagandeep Singh (Bathinda) and Anmol Verma (Pathankot).
