Preparations to attach properties of more drug peddlers in Chandigarh: First 3.69 crores worth of property frozen, 3 including Bala not getting bail for one year

Date:

In order to break the back of drug smugglers in Chandigarh, the process of action has been intensified by attaching the property earned from drugs. Earlier, Chandigarh’s Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) had frozen the property of 3 drug peddlers worth Rs 3,69,59,176.76, but now another list is being prepared which includes many drug peddlers from the city and outside. These people have built properties not only in Chandigarh but also in other states with the money earned from drugs. The police is now visiting their properties and inquiring as to who is living on that property at present and whether the accused have sold that property to someone else. Documents related to all these are being collected. The action of attaching and freezing the property of drug peddlers has been done by SP Crime Jasbir and DSP Dheeraj.

Bail will not be granted for one year

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Chandigarh Police has taken drug peddlers Bala, Dikshant and Deepak Mittal alias Vicky in preventive detention under the PIT NDPS Act. Earlier, there was a plan to send them to the Central Jail in Dibrugarh, Assam, but later they were kept in Chandigarh jail itself. Under the PIT NDPS Act, such criminals can be kept in jail for one year without trial, who are repeatedly caught selling drugs and do not give up their habit.
