Major Road Tragedy in Punjab, 7 Die on the Spot
A major road accident occurred on Monday morning in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district, leaving 7 people dead on the spot and over 17 seriously injured. A passenger bus overturned after colliding head-on with a car on the Dasuya-Hajipur road near Adda Sagra.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with screams and cries for help echoing as locals rushed in to assist rescue efforts.

The impact was so severe that several passengers were trapped inside the overturned bus. JCB machines were brought in to assist in the rescue operation. Locals, with the help of the police, broke windows and used tools to pull out the injured. Many passengers were critically wounded, and at least one child is among the dead.
🏥 Doctors Confirm Critical Condition of Several Victims
Dr. Manmohan Singh, SMO at Dasuya Civil Hospital, said:
“Three people were brought in dead, including a child. Several passengers were in critical condition and have been referred to Amritsar Medical College for advanced treatment.”
The hospital staff responded swiftly to provide emergency care to all those brought in.
👮 Police Suspect Overspeeding as Main Cause
DSP Kulwinder Singh from Dasuya, present at the accident site, stated:
“Preliminary findings suggest the bus was speeding, which led to a head-on collision with a car. After the impact, the bus overturned, trapping many passengers. Rescue operations were supported by locals and JCB machines.”
The police have taken possession of the deceased bodies for postmortem and have initiated a formal investigation. An FIR is being registered based on eyewitness reports.
👁️ Witness Accounts: ‘Screams from Inside the Bus’
An eyewitness named Sonu, who was nearby when the incident happened, said:
“I was standing outside talking on the phone when I heard a loud crash. I saw the bus had flipped. People were screaming inside, especially women and children. We broke the windows and pulled out as many as we could.”

Authorities have confirmed that a child is among the deceased. The bus driver is also critically injured. Efforts are underway to identify all victims and notify their families.
