Two youths murdered in Chandigarh at night: cut with sharp weapons at different places; police still empty handed

Two youths were murdered at two different places in Chandigarh city on Monday night. The murder incident caused a sensation in the area. The attackers attacked with sharp weapons at Ram Darbar and Maloya-Mohali border. In both the cases, the police have registered an FIR under murder sections, but no arrest has been made yet. There have been 3 murders in 48 hours in the Tricity. The law and order situation is under question due to the incidents happening one after the other.

The first case is of Ram Darbar, where Raman Chaddha, a resident of Sector-25, and his companion Tushar were attacked with sharp weapons. Both were seriously injured. They were admitted to Sector-32 hospital for treatment, where Raman Chaddha died and the condition of the other companion remains critical.

Police is checking CCTV footage

Police station-31 has registered a case under murder sections in the case, but till now the police has not been able to arrest the accused. At the same time, the police is checking the surroundings to find any CCTV installed outside someone’s house which may give clues about the accused. The police is also questioning the people around.

Murder of a 19-year-old youth in Maloya

The second case is from village Maloya, where 19-year-old Deva was murdered on Monday night on the Maloya-Mohali border. Deva had gone to a shop to get his scooty repaired, when four youths and a woman attacked him. They killed him by hitting him with bricks and knives. Vinay and Akash, who were present with him, also suffered serious injuries. Both are admitted in GMSH-16. Deva was a resident of Jhampur.

There was a fight between both the parties

According to the police, there was a fight between Deva and the accused in Jhampur on July 6. Both the parties had threatened each other. The matter was settled with the intervention of the people. But Kallu, Rama and Pammi held a grudge. On Monday, they attacked Deva after getting the opportunity.

Murder had also taken place on Sunday

The graph of murders in Chandigarh is increasing. Before the two murders on Monday night, Sanjeet alias Sonu was murdered in Indira Colony on Sunday. Sonu was also around 19 years old.
