6 lakh families in Haryana suddenly out of BPL category: Those who do not have bicycles, are made car owners; beneficiaries were increased during the election time
The Haryana government has suddenly excluded 6.36 lakh families from the BPL (below poverty line) category. In 4 months, where the BPL category figure in the state was 52 lakh, it has now come down to about 46 lakh. The government has argued that the annual income of these families has increased to more than 1.80 lakh and they also have expensive vehicles.
On the other hand, questions have started being raised on this figure of the government. Some such cases have come to light in which the income was increased without any survey. Apart from this, many families do not even have two-wheelers, but due to some error, big vehicles were registered in their family ID.
Such affected people told that when they went to get ration, they got the information about the card being cancelled. They came to know that a big vehicle was registered in their name. But, they did not buy any vehicle. Then how did this happen, it should be investigated.
Another aspect in this case is that the list of beneficiaries of BPL cards suddenly increased by 5 lakhs between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, but now after the formation of BJP government for the third time in the state, reduction has started.
First know what the government has shown in the released data…
Released on June 30, 6.36 lakh names removed: The Food Supply Directorate has released this data till June 30. According to this data, now only 46 lakh 14 thousand 604 families of the state are left in the BPL category. 2 months ago this figure was 52 lakh 50 thousand 740 in the state. Now in the data that has been released, 6 lakh 36 thousand 136 families have been excluded from the BPL category. That is, now these families will not be given free ration under the government scheme from the month of August.
Most ration cards cancelled in Faridabad: According to the data, most cards have been cancelled in Faridabad, where 20,266 cards were removed. After this, 15,502 ration cards were cancelled in Panipat and 15,059 in Karnal. After this, 14,501 cards were cancelled in Ambala, 14,301 in Gurugram, 12,498 in Sonipat, 10,964 in Yamunanagar and 10,278 in Kurukshetra. Apart from this, 9,210 ration cards have been cancelled in Rohtak, 8,783 in Kaithal, 8,656 in Hisar, 7,896 in Sirsa, 7,715 in Jhajjar, 6,172 in Fatehabad, 5,593 in Jind, 5,298 in Bhiwani, 4,412 in Rewari, 4,384 in Palwal, 2,785 in Panchkula, 2,768 in Mahendragarh, 2,604 in Nuh and 1,568 in Charkhi Dadri.
Now know how questions are being raised on the government figures…
3 vehicles in the name of a street vendor: In Sirsa, 3 vehicles have been registered in the name of a street vendor. Ward number 19 resident Manoj Kumar is running his family by setting up a vegetable cart. When he went to get ration this month, he came to know that his card has been cancelled. When we went to the CSC centre and got it checked, we found out that the card was cancelled because of three vehicles, whereas these vehicles belonged to our neighbours. He lives in a rented house and has only one cycle. His annual income in the PPP is Rs 1 lakh, but expensive vehicles were shown in his name.
