Nawanshahr: Strict orders have been issued to pharmacies in the district. District Magistrate Ankurjit Singh has ordered the pharmacy to give Pregabalin medicine only on the basis of approval of a competent doctor and for the prescribed time.
The District Magistrate said that the pharmacy should also keep a complete record of this medicine. He said that the Civil Surgeon Office has informed that Pregabalin is commonly used by Medical Specialist/Psychiatrist/GDMO for the treatment of patients suffering from diseases like fibromyalgia/neuralgia etc., but in excess it can be used as an addiction. Therefore, this medicine should be given by the pharmacy only on the basis of approval of a competent doctor and for the prescribed time. The above order will remain in force till 14 September 2025.
