Now the Municipal Corporation Commissioner has implemented the fine on the basis of the orders of the Deputy Commissioner for garbage found in vacant plots, which will be effective throughout Jalandhar. According to the new rules, the fine has been fixed based on the size of the plot. A lump sum fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on a plot up to 200 yards, Rs 20,000 on a plot from 200 to 500 yards and Rs 30,000 on a plot of more than 500 yards.
Apart from this, the cleaning cost will be charged separately, which will be Rs 10,000 per tipper. The plot owner or occupant will have to deposit this amount within 10 days. If this is not done, a red entry will be registered in the revenue records, and this amount will be recovered with interest at the time of purchase or sale of the plot.
