Chandigarh: The effect of continuous monsoon and western disturbance is being seen on the weather in Punjab. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in the state in the coming days. Also, a warning of thunderstorms along with heavy rains has been issued in many districts today. Clouds have been overcast in many areas since morning. On the other hand, people are also facing humid heat, due to which fluctuations are being seen in the temperature.
Talking about the last 24 hours, it rained in many parts of the state, causing an average drop of 1.4 degrees in temperature. The highest temperature was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius in Pathankot. The temperature remained between 30 to 35 degrees Celsius throughout the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain across Punjab today. According to the department, it may rain in many parts of 11 districts of the state today. At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning along with heavy rains in 4 districts. The department has issued a yellow alert in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar.
Rain will continue till July 22
According to the department, there is a possibility of rain in the state throughout the week. Especially on July 17, 21 and 22, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm has been issued at many places. During this time, if the temperature drops further, then people can get more relief from the heat.
