CM and DGP Punjab honored the brave police personnelIn a tragic accident near Bahiman bridge, the PCR team of Bathinda Police set an example of humanity and duty by saving the lives of 11 people without caring for their own lives. Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann praised these brave policemen, while DGP Punjab Mr. Gaurav Yadav (IPS) honored them with “DGP Commendation Disc” and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
The incident took place on the morning of 23 July 2025, when the PCR team posted near Bahiman bridge received information from a passerby that a car with children had fallen into the canal. It was a Honda Image car, in which a total of 11 people including 6 children were travelling. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and with the help of local welfare organizations and passersby, saved the lives of all the people by taking them out of the canal safely.
The four policemen who showed bravery without caring for their lives in this rescue operation were:

The above four policemen were honored by SSP Bathinda Amneet Kaundal (IPS) by giving “Commandation Disc” on behalf of DGP and a cash reward of Rs 25,000 each. During this, social welfare organizations also made a commendable contribution. They gave first aid to the children on the spot and took them to the hospital for treatment. This incident has once again proved that when policemen perform their duties with honesty and passion, they strengthen the feeling of trust and security in the society. At the same time, people of the society should also take inspiration and come forward to help the needy.
