Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Rahul said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), the last date for the survey to register the needy families living in kutcha houses in rural areas under the scheme has been extended. Earlier the last date for this survey was fixed as 15 May 2025, while now the Government of India has decided to extend this date and keep the Housing Portal 2.0 open till 31 July 2025. He told that this portal will be closed after 31 July.
He said that so that the benefit of this scheme reaches the needy families of every village, the government has already appointed a person as a surveyor for the survey of each village, the survey will be done by the same surveyor. This mobile application works in two ways, assisted survey and self survey. This survey is the only means of registration under the scheme, the last date of which is now 31 July 2025.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the Sarpanchs of all the Panchayats to fully cooperate with the surveyors posted in their villages and if any beneficiary family is left out, then get it registered as soon as possible, so that maximum number of families can get the benefit of this scheme. More information in this regard is available on the scheme’s website https://pmayg.nic.in. Apart from this, one can also contact his block office for more information.
