Empowerment and Minority Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that during the current financial year 2025-26, the Punjab Government has released an amount of Rs 13.43 crore for 2634 beneficiaries of backward classes and economically weaker sections under the Ashirvad scheme. Giving more information, he said that this benefit will be given to the beneficiaries of Amritsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Rupnagar, S.A.S. Nagar, Sangrur, Malerkotla and Tarn Taran. He informed that this amount has been released on the basis of applications received on the Ashirvad portal. It is worth noting that under the Ashirvad scheme, the government provides direct financial assistance of Rs 51,000 at the time of marriage of daughters of poor and low-income families.
