Punjab Government has taken an important decision with the aim of strengthening the health services and education sector in Punjab. The retirement age of doctors and dental faculty coming under the Punjab Dental Education (Group-A) Service Rules, 2016, under the Finance Department (FD), has been increased. Now their retirement age has been increased from 62 years to 65 years. The government has given formal approval to this proposal on the recommendation of the Department of Medical Education and Research.
The government said that in line with the already implemented policy for medical teaching faculty in government medical colleges and hospitals of Amritsar and Patiala, now the retirement age of dental teaching faculty has also been increased to 65 years. This decision has been taken with the aim of taking advantage of the skills and experience of highly trained faculty for a long time.
