The bridge built on the Sri Anandpur Sahib Hydel Channel Canal located at Sri Kiratpur Sahib on the Kullu, Manali-Chandigarh main road has become a big problem for the pedestrians due to rain. This bridge, which connects Gurudwara Baba Gurditta Ji and Dargah Peer Sai Baba Buddan Shah, got submerged due to heavy rain yesterday afternoon.
Rain water collected on the bridge, due to heavy rain and small holes made for drainage on the bridge, the rain water could not drain properly. The situation was such that the rain water was falling into the Anandpur Sahib Hydel Channel Canal through the footpath built on both sides of the bridge. In such a situation, the movement of two-wheelers came to a complete halt. While car drivers were also taking their vehicles to the other side after a lot of effort, risking their lives. Due to which the drivers passing through there had to face a lot of troubles.
On this occasion, a car rider who was coming from Hamirpur of Himachal Pradesh towards Kiratpur Sahib, his car got stuck in the water. Later, with the help of the devotees coming on the occasion of Navratri, he got the car pushed out and called a mechanic to get it fixed. The car owner told that he had to go for an important work but he faced a lot of trouble due to the car breaking down. Passers-by have demanded from the National Highway Authority of India and the district administration that a permanent solution should be found for the drainage of rainwater from this bridge because every time during heavy rains, water accumulates on the bridge and the drivers have to face a lot of trouble.
