Punjab government will complete the process of filling the vacant posts of more than 5000 Anganwadi workers and helpers before September 30, 2025. This information was given by Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur. Baljit Kaur said that the department has issued a special program for promotion, transfer / adjustment and appointments on compassionate grounds of Anganwadi workers and helpers from July 23 to August 15. Under this, action will be taken from August 1 to August 8 to give jobs to the dependents of the workers who died during service, while transfer / adjustment will be completed before August 15.
Dr. Baljit Kaur stressed that this is the first time that they are giving an opportunity for government jobs to the dependents of Anganwadi workers or helpers who have become permanently disabled during service or have become incapacitated due to life-threatening illness. Dr Baljit Kaur informed that advertisements for the vacancies will be issued on August 22, while the last date to apply will be September 22. She said that the entire recruitment process will be based on pure merit and transparency and there will be no interference or discrimination of any kind.
She said that through these efforts, the Punjab government is bringing about changes at the grassroots level to improve not only the Anganwadi services but also the lives of women and children of all sections. These steps are not limited to mere recruitments or transfers but are part of a social commitment that will lead Punjab towards a just, empathetic and developed society.
