Restrictions imposed in Punjab, strict orders issued District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner

Viraj S. Tidke has issued orders banning the flying of any type of drone in Malerkotla district on the occasion of Independence Day. These orders have been issued for security reasons in view of the Independence Day celebrations.

Using the powers vested under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023 (BNSS), he has imposed a complete ban on the flying of any type of unmanned aerial vehicle or drone, remote-controlled aircraft and hot air balloons etc. in Malerkotla district till Independence Day on August 15 (Friday). Anyone violating these orders will be penalized under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
