Ludhiana Inspector to be awarded President’s Police Medal. For his distinguished and impeccable service for over 36 years, Inspector Suresh Kumar of Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, working in Counter Intelligence, Punjab will be awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Independence Day 2025. During this Independence Day-2025, only 2 police officers from Punjab, Inspector Suresh Kumar and ADGP PAP Farooqui IPS, will be awarded this special honour.
Inspector Suresh Kumar has an illustrious career record in law enforcement, under which he has received several honours, including President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2016 and Chief Minister’s Medal for Distinguished Devotion in 2023. Inspector Kumar has been awarded the DGP Disc 4 times in 2010, 2017, 2022 and 2023 respectively, besides receiving over 200 appreciation certificates and 10 letters of commendation from senior police officers. He stood first in basic training among 600 recruits of his batch at the World Games in 1990, while during his college days in 1987 he also had the distinction of being awarded the Best Athlete of the College.
During his illustrious career, Inspector Suresh has displayed courage, commitment, unwavering devotion to duty and professionalism in solving several heinous crimes including murders and busting of big gangs. Apart from other important cases, Inspector Kumar played a key role in solving Punjab’s biggest robbery of Rs 8.49 crore that took place at the office of a cash management firm, CMS. Along with his illustrious police career, environment-conscious Inspector Suresh Kumar has also played a key role in keeping the surroundings green by actively planting trees.
