Instagram influencer has been arrested by ED. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested famous Instagram influencer and actress Sandeepa Virk in a money laundering case of Rs 40 crore. According to the information received, the arrest took place on August 12 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The court has sent Sandeepa Virk to ED custody till August 14. ED raided several places in Delhi and Mumbai on August 12 and 13. According to the information, this action was part of the ongoing investigation against Sandeepa Virk and her associates. It is alleged that they extorted money from people through false claims and wrong identity and committed fraud. Punjab connection of Instagram influencer Sandeepa Virk has also come to light. According to reports, the case is related to an FIR lodged at a Mohali police station, in which a case was registered under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (fraud) of the IPC. Virk is accused of collecting lakhs of rupees from people on false pretexts and by giving wrong information. Method of fraud Sandeepa Virk is accused of fraudulently purchasing real estate properties and claiming herself to be the owner of a website called “hyboocare.com”. This website claimed to sell FDA-approved beauty products. But investigation found that the website was not actually approved, its products were also fake, there was no user registration facility on the website, the payment gateway was constantly failing and she had no social media presence. Who is Sandeepa Virk? Sandeepa Virk describes herself as an actress and entrepreneur. She has 1.2 million followers on Instagram. Sandeepa Virk is an International Certified Cosmetologist from Canada and UAE and recently launched her skincare brand “HYBOO” on e-commerce. She has done theatre workshops with Nadira Babbar, several music videos, ramp shows, print ads and over 50 clothing brand catalogues. She has also appeared in the lead role in the Punjabi film Gun & Goal.
