A sensational case of kidnapping of a 12-year-old student on his way to school in the Kishanpura area of the city has come to light. It is being reported that the kidnappers, in order to abduct the child, knocked him unconscious by placing a handkerchief over his mouth and then forced him into a truck. After regaining consciousness, the child bravely jumped out of the truck, saving his life.
The incident occurred with Rajiv Kumar Rana, a fourth-grade student and resident of Ajit Nagar Street No. 10. According to family members, he had left for school as usual in the morning. On the way, unknown persons placed a cloth over his mouth, causing him to faint.
The child said that upon regaining consciousness, he found himself trapped inside the truck. He removed the tarpaulin and jumped from the back of the truck. Meanwhile, a doctor, the driver of a car coming from behind, spotted the child and safely transported him home in an e-rickshaw. The family has reported the incident to the Rama Mandi police station. Investigating officer ASI Satnam Singh stated that the case is under investigation. Preliminary investigations have not yielded any concrete evidence, but the family and child will be questioned again. Following the incident, panic has gripped the area. Locals have questioned the police’s actions and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.
