Another case of fraud involving foreign travel has come to light in Punjab. Following a lengthy investigation by the Dinanagar police, a case has been registered against five individuals, including three women, who defrauded two young men of approximately 58 lakh rupees under the guise of sending them to Australia and Canada.
Disclosing this information, DSP Dinanagar Rajinder Singh Minhas stated that an investigation has been filed with the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Command Center, Gurdaspur, on July 30, 2024. He stated that the police complaint alleges that Jasbir Masih, son of Barkat Masih, resident of Nardan, was duped of ₹46,99,760 and another applicant, Wilson Masih, was duped of ₹11,02,000, by providing Jasbir Masih and Wilson Masih with fake work permits and air tickets, but they were not sent to Canada and Australia. After conducting a thorough investigation on the basis of his complaint, the police have registered a case under various sections against Mohit Kumar, Sonali Saini, Shweta, Gaurav Singh and Rekha Rani, residents of 50 Haldari, Ambala, Haryana and have started further action.
