A shocking accident in Jalandhar resulted in the death of a man.
A motorcyclist was killed on Friday after being hit by a truck on the Chaugitti flyover. Upon receiving information about the accident, Road Safety Force personnel, followed by police from the Rama Mandi police station, arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
Following the accident, the Chaugitti flyover was temporarily blocked, but was cleared by the efforts of the traffic police. ASI Surjeet Singh stated that the deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Sarwan Kumar, a resident of Sainik Vihar Colony, village Khusropur, Sadar Jamsher Police Station, Jalandhar. He added that the truck that hit the deceased has not yet been identified. He added that CCTV cameras are being checked. The truck that caused the accident has been spotted near Dhilwan, but its driver and vehicle number have not been identified. Police are taking appropriate legal action against the unidentified truck driver.
ASI Surjeet Singh stated that police will conduct a post-mortem examination on the deceased, Rakesh Kumar, on Saturday morning. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital. Police apprehended a truck driver at the scene, but its driver and eyewitnesses stated that the motorcyclist was hit by another truck, and that Rakesh Kumar’s legs were crushed under the truck.
