The Municipal Corporation’s Building Department often fails to take timely action against illegal constructions, but sealing operations are often carried out once construction is complete. There have been numerous instances where buildings are sealed without proper inspection, even when people are still inside. One such case has now come to light in Prem Nagar.
According to reports, Man Singh, who was visiting a relative, was staying in a house. At 11 p.m. on Wednesday, the Municipal Corporation sealed the house based on a complaint. The lower portion of the house contains shops, while the upper portion contains rooms. Man Singh called his son, Rakesh Kumar, who lives separately in Hardeep Nagar, and informed him that he had been locked inside. His family members continued to deliver food to him. It is reported that a relative was also present in the house with Man Singh.
The family informed Mayor Vineet Dhir and Municipal Corporation officials about the incident. The Mayor has assured them that the house will be opened and the person locked inside will be released. This entire matter has become a topic of discussion in the city. Meanwhile, Building Branch officials stated that the man entered the building after it was sealed.
