Daljit Singh, GM of Verka Milk Plant, Ludhiana, said that people need to be aware of the price of fresh milk. He said that due to the GST revision effective September 22nd, the prices of milk products like paneer, yogurt, butter, ghee, and UHD milk have been reduced. He said that many shopkeepers and customers are confused about the reduction in the price of fresh milk as well.
The GM said that previously, there was no GST on fresh milk, so there has been no reduction in milk prices; only UHD milk was charged, which has now been reduced by Rs 2 per liter after the GST reduction. Furthermore, he has directed all Verka dealers and distributors to reduce the prices of Verka ghee, butter, paneer, and UHD milk to benefit the public. Verka is a cooperative organization whose aim is to provide high-quality milk and milk products to consumers.
