A series of threatening ransom calls are being reported across Punjab. The latest case comes from Mohali, where an IT company owner has been asked to pay a ransom of ₹5 crore. The caller reportedly identified himself as gangster Goldy Brar and Goldy Dhillon. Following a complaint, Sohana police have registered a case against unknown suspects and launched an investigation.
Gurjot Singh stated that he received his first threatening call on September 12th. The caller, claiming to be Goldy Brar, asked him to arrange for money. He subsequently received repeated calls. He didn’t answer the call on September 13th. However, he received another call on September 14th. This time, the caller identified himself as Goldy Dhillon and reiterated his demand for money. Gurjot Singh said that when he refused to pay, he was threatened. On September 18th, he was even threatened with death, which terrified his family. They filed a police complaint.
