The case of a major gambling robbery worth ₹15 lakh in the Kishanpura area is now rapidly being solved following strict police action. The local police have registered an FIR against seven named accused and initiated an investigation. So far, the police have arrested one accused, while the remaining accused are reported to be absconding.
Names of the accused and sequence of events
According to sources, the police have registered a case against Chintu, a resident of Hargobind Nagar, Swami, a resident of Bastiyat, Vishal Mota, Sobit, and Davinder alias DC. They are alleged to have been involved in the robbery of ₹15 lakh in gambling money. A bookie was also assaulted in the incident, and one accused is also accused of snatching his licensed pistol. According to the police, given the gravity of the case, all the absconding accused will be arrested soon.
Police Action
Jalandhar Police say the matter has been taken seriously and a special team has been formed to apprehend the culprits quickly. The arrested accused is being interrogated, which may help lead to the arrest of other suspects.
