The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has initiated a significant process to become a dual certification body under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). The aim is to further strengthen the quality and accessibility of skill-based education.
PSEB Chairman, Dr. Amar Pal Singh, IAS (Retd.), stated that the purpose of education is not merely assessment, but to empower students. He emphasized that their goal is to prepare every student for both life and employment. This step marks a crucial milestone in linking education with skill-based training.
The board’s primary focus is on developing a robust and skill-oriented education system in Punjab schools, enabling students to acquire competencies that will make them employable and successful in the future job market. This process will recognize both academic and vocational achievements. To further strengthen vocational education, PSEB has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘Land a Hand India’ (LHI). Through this partnership, high-quality vocational training aligned with industry standards will be implemented at the school level, ensuring that students are prepared to meet future industrial demands and contribute actively to the state’s economy.
