In the first 11 days of November, various teams led by Punjab State Power Corporation Chief Engineer Jagdev Singh Hans, SE East Surjit Singh, and SE West Kulwinder Singh disconnected the electricity connections of 1,769 defaulting consumers in nine divisions of Ludhiana city, tightening the noose on defaulting consumers who had not paid their electricity bills for a long time. A massive recovery of ₹20,92,18,000 has been made.
The Punjab State Power Corporation is continuously taking swift action against the owners of residential, commercial, and industrial houses in the city, including disconnecting the electricity connections of defaulting consumers and seizing their meters. However, during this period, Chief Engineer Jagdev Singh Hans, SE Surjit Singh, and SE During the action, Kulwinder Singh is also offering defaulting consumers the flexibility to pay their outstanding electricity bills in two to three installments, so that families do not face shortages of basic necessities like electricity and water in the event of a power outage. Chief Engineer Jagdev Singh Hans has once again appealed to defaulting consumers who have not paid their outstanding electricity bills for a long time to come forward and deposit the outstanding amount into the Powercom treasury to avoid any further problems. He clarified that the penalty amount will be collected from all defaulting consumers against whom action is being taken by the Punjab State Power Corporation along with the bill. He stated that the Powercom department’s campaign against defaulting consumers will continue, and no defaulter will be spared.
