In an incident that raises serious questions about the city’s security system, Manjit Singh Khalsa, an elderly devotee on his way to the Gurudwara Sahib, was stopped on the road and robbed by bike-borne robbers. The incident occurred near Shagun Palace on Shingar Road, and the entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed nearby.
Manjit Singh Khalsa, associated with the Bhai Daya Singh Society, was on his way to the Gurudwara as usual in the morning when a motorcycle carrying three young men suddenly stopped near him. The robbers called out to him, calling him over and, under the pretense of a conversation, beckoned him over. As soon as he stopped his Activa, the accused threatened him, snatched cash and other belongings, and fled.
The elderly victim immediately filed a complaint with Police Station Division No. 3 and the Shingar Cinema Police Post. Police have launched a search for the accused based on CCTV footage. This incident, which occurred in broad daylight, has created panic among local residents and raised questions about law and order.
