Police from Ladowal police station have registered a case of attempted murder against two accused who opened fire on a police team.
Providing information about the incident, Inspector Navdeep Singh stated that his police team was patrolling near the Jalandhar bypass when a special informant reported that two accused were roaming near the toll plaza with illegal pistols. Upon arriving at the scene, the police team signaled the two accused, who were riding a motorcycle, to stop. The accused opened fire on the police team, striking a government vehicle. The police team returned fire and shot back, injuring both accused.
Inspector Navdeep Singh stated that the police subsequently arrested the two accused and identified them as Deepu, son of Hanuman Prasad, a resident of village Sherewala, Fazilka, and Ramlal, son of Amarchand, a resident of Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Police recovered two pistols, five live cartridges, and a motorcycle from their possession. A case has been registered against the accused.
