The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued a notification to crack down on the black marketing and misuse of domestic gas. Consumers will now be able to receive gas cylinders only after providing the OTP (DAC) code received on their mobile number registered with the respective gas agency office.
This notification issued by India’s leading Indane Gas Company is going to be a major blow to shopkeepers using domestic gas cylinders in commercial premises and the gas mafia involved in gas black marketing and diversion. It will also eliminate the problem of multiple gas connections running simultaneously in homes.
Arun Agarwal, Head of Arun Indane Gas Service, while welcoming the said scheme launched by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that this initiative of the government will not only stop the black marketing and smuggling of domestic gas but will also stop the series of deaths of innocent people in fatal accidents caused by gas theft.
