The Punjab University Bachao Morcha’s ongoing struggle for the Senate and Syndicate elections at Punjab University, Chandigarh, has achieved a major victory. The Vice President and PU Chancellor have announced the holding of Punjab University Senate elections. This decision has sparked a wave of joy among the students. On this occasion, the students held a victory march and ended their protest. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also congratulated the students on this success. Sharing a post on social media, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote, “The approval of Punjab University Senate elections by Vice President Honorable C.P. Radhakrishnan is a tremendous victory for all of Punjab. This institution is not just a university, but a heritage of Punjab.”
He also said, “The university’s students, teachers, faculty members, and every Punjabi deserve congratulations for their unwavering courage and continued their struggle despite immense pressure. Ultimately, this struggle has paid off.” It is being told that the Punjab University administration had sent the schedule prepared for holding elections on November 9 to the Chancellor for approval, which has now got formal approval.
