In view of the rapidly falling temperatures in Punjab, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow cold wave alert for Monday and Tuesday. The increasing cold and dry weather is affecting people’s health, with the elderly, children, and the sick facing greater difficulties. According to the latest update issued by the Meteorological Department, the cold wave will intensify in Punjab until December 4th. There is currently no forecast of rain in the state.
Temperatures Below 3 Degrees
The minimum temperature in Punjab has dropped below 3 degrees in many areas, demonstrating the harshness of this winter. According to the department’s data, Faridkot recorded a minimum temperature of 2.9 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees below normal. Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 22.5 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 24.4 degrees Celsius. Patiala recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 25.3 degrees Celsius. Bathinda recorded a maximum temperature of 27.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 6.4 degrees Celsius. Jalandhar recorded a maximum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 6 degrees Celsius.
Experts say that due to heavy snowfall in the hilly areas, a cold wave and a drop in temperature is continuing in Punjab. The speed of cold winds may increase in the next few days, making the cold even more intense. The Meteorological Department has advised people to wear warm clothing in the morning and evening and to take special precautions to avoid the falling temperatures.
