A minibus returning from a wedding ceremony lost control and overturned near the Nurpurbedi bus stand, injuring more than 15 passengers, including women, children, and men. The injured were immediately admitted to various nearby private hospitals for treatment. The cause of the accident is still unknown. Most of the passengers are said to be from villages in the Nurpurbedi block, but complete information about them is not yet available.
According to reports, the minibus, returning from a wedding ceremony in Kiratpur Sahib, suddenly hit a divider and overturned when it reached the Nurpurbedi bus stand late in the evening. Several passengers were seriously injured, and the bus erupted in chaos. Upon receiving information about the accident, local police station in-charge Rohit Sharma arrived at the scene with a police team and rescued the trapped passengers. The injured were immediately admitted to various nearby private hospitals. Later, the police removed the wrecked bus and restored traffic. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, Punjab Morcha leader Gaurav Rana and his colleagues also reached the hospital to help the injured.
