Youth get 20-year jail for sexually assaulting minor
Case was registered at Women’s Police Station, Panchkula, in 2021
A fast-track court has sentenced a resident of Abheypur, who was minor when he perpetrated the crime, to 20-year imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000 for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in 2021.
A case of sexual assault was registered at the Women’s Police Station, Panchkula, on April 6, 2021. The girl’s mother reported that she and her husband both worked as daily wage laborer’s and had three children. On April 5, when she returned home from work around 8:30 pm, she found her children scared. Her younger son told her that two days ago, their neighbors entered the house and sexually assaulted his seven-year-old sister.
The girl told her mother that the accused had forced himself on her, assaulted her, tried to silence her with a cloth and threatened to kill her. The girl was terrified and mentally broken after the incident.
The girl’s mother had informed the police control room, after which a team visited her house.
