A threat of displacement looms over 191 families residing in the Tetulmudi Mouza of the Putki Circle. Furthermore, this initiative will also impact 248 landholders (Ryots) in the area. The District Land Acquisition Office, under the authority of the Deputy Commissioner, is set to acquire 54.82 acres of land within this Mouza. Consequently, provisions have been made to offer special benefits and facilities to the affected landholders.
The District Land Acquisition Office has clarified that the social impact assessment for the local landholders has already been completed. Given this status, the land acquisition process is now set to commence.
**The Background**
Land is being acquired in Tetulmudi by BCCL (Bharat Coking Coal Limited) for the purpose of coal mining operations. The land acquisition process will be executed by the District Land Acquisition Office. According to the Land Acquisition Office, this acquisition is to be carried out within Thana (Survey) No. 271 in Tetulmudi. In accordance with established regulations, the Social Impact Assessment for this project has been duly completed. As per the assessment, a total of 248 landholders across the Mouza are being impacted by this project.
The construction of the project is expected to generate direct employment opportunities for the affected population; furthermore, individuals will be offered jobs across various categories based on their respective qualifications. This initiative is projected to accelerate the pace of development within the region. However, the land acquisition process will also result in the displacement of a total of 191 families.
