In Amritsar, while the disconnection of the power supply to the residence of DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa has sparked numerous questions, it has also created an atmosphere of fear within the family. BJP leader Sunil Jakhar has leveled serious allegations against the Punjab government via a tweet. He claimed that the power lines to DM Gagandeep Randhawa’s home were severed and that suspicious individuals were spotted outside the residence, thereby heightening concerns regarding the family’s safety. Taking aim at Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Jakhar stated that such incidents occurring under his administration are deeply alarming. He questioned whether a government could stoop to such a level and whether any sense of morality remains within it. He alleged that, previously, a government minister had subjected DM Gagandeep Randhawa to such severe mental harassment that he was driven to commit suicide, and now, attempts are being made to intimidate and threaten his family. Jakhar further noted that the government has neither provided adequate security to the family thus far nor ordered a CBI inquiry into the matter.
Sunil Jakhar asserted that attempts to intimidate the family are being orchestrated with the government’s tacit approval. The BJP condemns such actions in the strongest possible terms. While strongly denouncing these incidents, he emphasized that a CBI inquiry is absolutely essential to ensure an impartial investigation into the entire affair. He added that demands to hand over this case to the CBI are being raised across the entire state of Punjab.
