Last night, unidentified thieves executed a meticulously planned major heist at a new building currently under construction by the owner of the city’s renowned electronics store, ‘Aje TV Center.’ Operating with apparent ease across all three floors of the structure, the thieves ripped out approximately 15 copper pipes installed for air conditioning units and stole the internal wiring. Preliminary estimates suggest that the owner has suffered a financial loss of approximately ₹3 lakh. The building’s owner, Pankaj Mahajan, stated that the thieves carried out the burglary in a highly organized manner, noting that not a single lock was broken. This has led to the suspicion that the thieves likely gained entry either via the rooftop from a neighboring building or through the open shaft designated for the elevator. The act of systematically extracting wiring from all three floors suggests that the thieves spent a considerable amount of time inside the building to execute the crime.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately arrived at the scene. Police officer Jaswant Singh stated that footage from nearby CCTV cameras is currently being scrutinized, and the culprits are expected to be identified and arrested shortly. Significantly, the building where the theft occurred is situated in close proximity to a major bank and its ATM—a fact that has raised questions regarding the overall security arrangements in the area. Following this incident, an atmosphere of anxiety prevails among local merchants, who are now demanding swift action from the police.
