The spate of burglaries in the metropolis shows no signs of abating. In the latest incident, unidentified thieves targeted a residence, breaking the locks on interior doors and cupboards to execute a major heist. The thieves made off with cash and valuable jewelry stolen from a safe located inside the house.
In her statement to the police, Jyoti Nayyar recounted that the incident occurred on March 31. The unidentified thieves cunningly gained entry into the house and broke the locks on the doors of the inner rooms. The thieves’ primary targets were the household cupboards; after ransacking these, they turned their attention to a safe situated in the lobby.
According to the complainant, the thieves broke the locks on the cupboards and the safe, stealing a substantial amount of cash as well as gold and silver jewelry kept inside. The crime was executed with such precision that the thieves managed to gather the valuables and flee without causing any damage to other parts of the house. The incident came to light when the family members discovered the broken locks on the rooms and found their belongings scattered everywhere. Upon receiving the information, police personnel from the Jamalpur police station rushed to the scene and collected evidence with the assistance of fingerprint experts. The police are currently scrutinizing footage from CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas in an effort to track down the thieves.
