Following the police raid, the accused managed to flee the scene; however, the police successfully recovered three vehicles from their home, along with a .32 bore magazine containing six live rounds, a .30 bore pistol with seven live rounds, and two .315 bore rounds. The police have identified two accused individuals by name and have launched raids to effect their arrest.
Providing details on the matter, District SSP Surinder Lamba stated that a police party, led by CIA Staff ASI Mehal Singh, received a tip-off that certain individuals residing in Harike Pattan were engaged in the business of procuring illegal weapons from outside the district and supplying them within the local area. The intelligence indicated that, on the previous day, these individuals—accompanied by their accomplices—had arrived in vehicles at a specific house in Harike Pattan to conduct an arms transaction.
The SSP further explained that, acting on this information, a special team was constituted. When the police party raided the house in Harike, the accused, upon spotting the police, abandoned their vehicles at the scene and successfully fled the area. The SSP confirmed that during the operation, the police seized a Swift car, an i20 car, and an Innova car. From these vehicles, they recovered a .32 bore magazine containing six live rounds, a country-made .30 bore pistol with seven live rounds, and two .315 bore rounds. The SSP added that, in connection with this case, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Harike Police Station against Jaspreet Singh alias ‘Jassa’ (son of Tarlok Singh) and Jagpreet Singh alias ‘Jagga’ (son of Gurcharan Singh), both residents of Harike, and raids have been initiated to apprehend them.
