Former Minister Laljit Bhullar’s Troubles Mount: Another Section Invoked Against Him

Date:

A new twist has emerged in Punjab politics, where former Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar is once again making headlines. Laljit Bhullar’s troubles have escalated further; another legal section has been invoked against him in connection with the suicide case involving District Manager Gagandeep Randhawa. According to reports, Section 238—pertaining to attempts to destroy evidence—has been added to the FIR. Bhullar stands accused of attempting to tamper with or destroy evidence. Notably, the police had obtained a seven-day remand for Bhullar, but during this period, they were unable to recover his mobile phone, SIM card, or DVR.

The Gagandeep Randhawa case was already considered a highly sensitive matter. During the course of the investigation, it has now come to light that attempts were made to tamper with or destroy crucial evidence. Based on these findings, the police have added sections related to the destruction of evidence to the charges against Bhullar. The Punjab Police are conducting a thorough and in-depth investigation into the entire case. Officials have stated that every facet of the case is being meticulously examined to ensure that the truth prevails.

**The Full Case**

It is pertinent to note that Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, the District Manager of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation in Amritsar, committed suicide. Prior to taking this step, he recorded a video in which he held former Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar responsible for his death. Following intense pressure and agitation from the victim’s family and opposition parties regarding this matter, Laljit Singh Bhullar first resigned from his ministerial post. Subsequently, the Amritsar Police—with the assistance of the Fatehgarh Sahib Police—arrested Bhullar in Mandi Gobindgarh. While the victim’s family had been demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter, the addition of yet another legal section against Laljit Bhullar now appears to be further compounding his legal troubles.
